This video aims to raise the knowledge of farmers and relevant stakeholders on lumpy skin disease (LSD) and how to reduce its spread and transmission in Cambodia.
LSD is one of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) notifiable diseases that occurred in 1929 in Africa. Since then, the disease has widespread to other regions of the world, including Asia. LSD causes a low mortality rate, but it causes economic loss for farmers in terms of animal welfare and trade barrier.
Hank begins teaching you about your endocrine system by explaining how it uses glands to produce hormones. These hormones are either amino-acid based and water soluble, or steroidal and lipid-soluble, and may target many types of cells or just turn on specific ones. He will also touch on hormone cascades, and how the HPA axis affects your stress response.

How to measure body fat percentage at home using skinfold calipers for an adult male. Measuring body fat percentage is part of the anthropometric measurements (BMI, height, weight, etc.) that we assess as nurses.
To measure body fat percentage via the skinfold thickness measurement technique, you’ll need a pair of skinfold calipers. Here’s the one we demonstrated in the video (Amazon Affiliate Store Link): https://www.amazon.com/shop/registerednursern
There are different methods and body locations you can use to measure body fat percentage. In this video, we demonstrate how to measure body fat percentage using the triceps skinfold thickness measurement (1-site method), the 3-site Jackson/Pollock method (chest, abdomen, thigh), and the 7-site Jackson/Pollock method (triceps, abdomen, chest, thigh, suprailiac, subscapular, midaxillary) using the Sequoia TrimCal 4000 skinfold caliper.
Once you collect the skinfold measurements (in millimeters), you can plug your results into a reference chart or calculator, especially for home use. If you are collecting measurements as a part of an official nursing assessment, you’ll enter the measurements into the required fields on your software or chart.
In the video, we show a graphic comparing body fat percentages, as well as the body fat percentage scale for both men and women.
In the future, we’ll demonstrate how to measure body fat percentage on a female, so stay tuned.

5:17 Treatment of Skin Cancer
Skin cancers are cancers that arise from the skin. They are due to the development of abnormal cells that have the ability to invade or spread to other parts of the body.[10] There are three main types of skin cancers: basal-cell skin cancer (BCC), squamous-cell skin cancer (SCC) and melanoma.[1] The first two, along with a number of less common skin cancers, are known as nonmelanoma skin cancer (NMSC).[5][11] Basal-cell cancer grows slowly and can damage the tissue around it but is unlikely to spread to distant areas or result in death.[5] It often appears as a painless raised area of skin that may be shiny with small blood vessels running over it or may present as a raised area with an ulcer.[1] Squamous-cell skin cancer is more likely to spread.[5] It usually presents as a hard lump with a scaly top but may also form an ulcer.[2] Melanomas are the most aggressive. Signs include a mole that has changed in size, shape, color, has irregular edges, has more than one color, is itchy or bleeds.[3]
More than 90% of cases are caused by exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the Sun.[4] This exposure increases the risk of all three main types of skin cancer.[4] Exposure has increased, partly due to a thinner ozone layer.[5][12] Tanning beds are another common source of ultraviolet radiation.[4] For melanomas and basal-cell cancers, exposure during childhood is particularly harmful.[6] For squamous-cell skin cancers, total exposure, irrespective of when it occurs, is more important.[4] Between 20% and 30% of melanomas develop from moles.[6] People with lighter skin are at higher risk[1][13] as are those with poor immune function such as from medications or HIV/AIDS.[5][14] Diagnosis is by biopsy.[3] Video Rating: / 5

The parathyroid glands produce parathyroid hormone (PTH) to help regulate the amount of calcium in the blood stream. When calcium levels are low, the gland produces PTH which pours into the blood stream. The PTH eventually enters the bones and activates cells that reabsorb and remodel the bone, thereby releasing calcium into the blood. In addition, the hormone instructs the kidneys to abosrb calcium back from urine. Finally, it changes Vitamin D into its active form, which helps the intestines absorb calcium, thus increasing calcium in the blood.
Alternatively, when calcium levels are high, the gland shuts down and the PTH level decreases so no more calcium is created.
